NC State Health Plan
Employees who work at least 30 hours per week in a permanent position are offered health insurance through the NC State Health Plan. Use this website to view health plan options, in-network providers, pharmacy benefits, useful forms and other important information.
Employees will annually receive information from Human Resources about completing benefit enrollment online, and can view the Employee Instructions for Completing Your Benefit Enrollment Online.
The “Cafeteria Benefits” plan organized under Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Service offers group rates for dental, vision, cancer, disability and life insurance to all full-time permanent employees. Also available are Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for out-of-pocket medical expenses, as well as dependent care costs. With most of these options, the premiums are pre-taxed.
The open enrollment period for Cafeteria Benefits is scheduled twice a year (once for new employees at the beginning of the school year, and then in the Spring for current employees.)
Employees can find electronic forms, benefit information, check FSA balance and view helpful videos about what their benefits cover, by visiting Pierce Group Benefits.
