Standard Response Protocol

In preparation for the upcoming school year, Henderson County Public Schools is enhancing the standard response protocol for unexpected situations that could arise. During the first week of school, all of our students will learn about the five updated actions within this protocol. These five actions are Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter.

HCPS continues to be a leader in school safety. Providing our students and staff with this updated protocol will only enhance these efforts.

We are proud to share in this training with our many community partners, including the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department, the Hendersonville Police Department, the Henderson County Health Department, the Boys & Girls Club, the YMCA, Blue Ridge Community College, and every branch of our local emergency services. This united collaboration will help ensure clarity and consistency across the county.
