Standard Response Protocol
For the 2024-2025 school year, we are proud to share with you the continuation of our Standard Response Protocol (SRP).
SRP is a standardized response plan for weather events, accidents, and other unusual activities at school. The protocol is designed to provide consistent, clear, shared language and actions among all students, staff, and every branch of our local emergency services.
These five actions are Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter.
Access the comprehensive Standard Response Protocol in English and Spanish.
HCPS is dedicated to keeping our students and staff safe and remaining a leader in school safety. Your knowledge of and involvement with SRP is an integral part of our collective efforts.
We are proud to share in this training with our many community partners, including the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department, the Hendersonville Police Department, the Henderson County Health Department, the Boys & Girls Club, the YMCA, Blue Ridge Community College, and every branch of our local emergency services. This united collaboration will help ensure clarity and consistency across the county.
