History Bites

Join us for a presentation on the following dates. All start at 11 AM. Coffee is provided. Each talk is free, but donations are accepted.

Friday, January 16: Johnny Kantner, financial advisor from Western & Southern Life, will give a talk titled, “Protecting Your Assets Against Identity Theft.” Learn how to minimize your risk of your identity getting stolen.

Friday, January 30: Rick Wood, chair of the Henderson County Education History Initiative (HCEHI), will talk about the mission of HCEHI and bring some artifacts from their Preservation Room.

Friday, February 13: Martha Todd, District 1 Vice-Director for the Daughters of the American Revolution and Treasurer of the Abraham Kuykendall Chapter of the DAR will share stories of local Patriots as well as information about America’s 250th.

 

Spring Break Farm & Arts Camp

Historic Johnson Farm will once again offer Farm & Arts Camp during Spring Break, March 16-20, from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM each day. Campers will participate in a number of different activities relating to the farm, arts, the environment, and more! The week will culminate in a showcase Friday afternoon where campers will share their creations and learnings with family and friends. Campers should bring a snack and lunch each day. Space is limited, so sign up now!

What: Spring Break Farm & Arts Camp
When: March 16-20 from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM each day
Who: Current kindergarteners-5th graders (roughly ages 6-11).
Where: Historic Johnson Farm. 3346 Haywood Road, Hendersonville, NC 28791
How much: Tiered pricing available ranging from $150-$250 (more information on registration form)

We will offer an extended day option from 2:30-5:00 PM Monday-Thursday for $60. Please mark on the registration if you would like to sign up for extended day.

Junior Interpreters: Year-round

The Junior Interpreters meet once a month after school to help out around the farm. They also help with our special events throughout the year and serve as junior counselors for the day camps. If you are interested in being added to the email list for the group, please email jfarm@hcpsnc.org. You do not have to attend every meeting-just the ones when you can!
