Have you ever wanted to share an announcement, post an assignment, provide materials or assign a question for a single student or small group of students in Google Classroom? This is a great way to differentiate instruction for students, and it is very easy to do!

First, you need to decide what you are going to add to your Classroom. You can either share an announcement from the Stream or create an assignment, question or material from the Classwork Tab. On each of these options you will have a dropdown menu titled, All students.

If you click on this dropdown, you can deselect the All students checkbox. Then, you can select one or more students who will receive the announcement, assignment, material or question.

Students who are not selected will not receive this once it is posted. Not only will it help you differentiate for students, but it will also allow some privacy about the assignments students receive. When you click on an item from the teacher view in Classroom, you will only see the student(s) to whom it is assigned or shared.
