Technology Integration Tips

Header image that reads "Technology Integration Models can help"

Things are quite a bit different for all of us in education right now. The HCPS Learn From Home model has been in full force for several weeks, and we have just learned that this will continue for the remainder of the school year.

We have shared several technology integration models in various formats over the years to assist you with ensuring that the tech is being used to support instruction and learning rather than guiding a lesson out of context. With this “new normal” of teaching from home, we are having to depend on technology more than ever. We wanted to do a reminder post to share guidance from a couple of these models to help you make the best use of technology with your students.

SAMR

The SAMR model based on the work of Dr. Ruben Puentedura is a framework to show levels of technology integration. Jaclyn B. Stevens has also introduced a swimming pool model where you “erase the line” and find quality instructional practice in all levels of SAMR. Please find SAMR resources below.

TPACK

TPACK is a framework exploring Content Knowledge, Pedagogical Knowledge and Technological Knowledge, and how these three can interconnect. For some TPACK resources visit:

Hopefully these reminders will assist you in continuing to teach and support your students using technology. Please let us know if we can help you in any way!
