History Bites: Winter Lecture Series. Each talk starts at 11:30 AM and includes light refreshments. $5 each, or buy a pass for all 3 for $12.

January 10: Jeremy Jones Bearwallow: A Personal History of a Mountain Homeland. Join Jones, a professor at Western Carolina University, as he shares stories of his childhood in the Fruitland/Edneyville area of the county and how he returned home after college. He will also bring his banjo to share some songs. Copies of his book will be available for sale.

January 24: Mark Williams Agriculture in Henderson County. Join the executive director of Agribusiness Henderson County to learn about the history of farming in Henderson County, what farming looks like in the present day, and what to expect in the future.

February 14: Kemper Gibson-Western Regional Crime Laboratory. Gibson will share more information about the western branch of the state crime lab that is located right here in Henderson County!

Candlelight Supper February 15 (snow date February 29)

Join us for the 2nd Annual Candlelight Supper in the historic farmhouse. Chef Lisa Wilson of Savoring Thyme Catering will provide a meal similar to one that Sallie Johnson would have cooked for summer boarders. The evening starts with a tour at 6 PM focusing on the summer guest experience at the farm, and then you will be seated in the farm house for the delicious meal. $100 for 2 people. SOLD OUT!
