Henderson County Junior Historians: Come learn about the history of Henderson
County in an informal, fun setting! Meetings will include hands-on activities, speakers,
and field trips. Students will have input on what they want to do! For 4th-8th graders.
Meets 4th Thursday of the month September-May (minus December) from 4-4:45 PM.

Volunteer Training: May 22 11 AM. Historic Johnson Farm is looking for volunteers! There is something for everyone- whether you want to give tours, help with field trips, or work on the grounds and gardens. Come to this training to learn more about how you can help out. You volunteer as much or as little as your schedule allows-no weekly commitment necessary.

Summer Events:

Summer Day Camp: July 8-12 and August 12-16. We are offering two sessions of a half-day camp for completed 3rd-5th graders. We will learn about the history of the farm while also having fun! Campers will help take care of our farm animals, participate in hands-on activities, play games, and more! Cost is $115, and camp runs 8:30 AM-12:30 PM. To register, go to this google form. ***The July session is full. If you sign up for July, you will be put on the wait list. After May 31, if we have not received payments for campers, we will move on to the wait list.***

June 5: Stories at the Farm-10 AM. Preschool story and craft. $3 per child.

June 21: Stories and Ice Cream-1:30 PM. Come hear Virginia Blackfeather Thompson share stories and enjoy ice cream. $10 per family.

July 18: Grand and Me-10 AM. Grandparents bring your grandchildren to the farm for a tour and games. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch to eat afterwards. $10 per family.

July 30: Nora Brooks Historical Presentations-11 AM at West Henderson High School Auditorium. Back by popular demand! Nora Brooks will perform as Abigail Adams. Let Abigail walk you down the Freedom Trail as a new country is born from the fires of Revolution and struggles through the pain of maturing to greatness. Adults $5, Students $3.

August 21: End of Summer Blast-1-4 PM. Games, wagon rides, popcorn, and more! $10 per family.
