Henderson County Junior Historians: Come learn about the history of Henderson
County in an informal, fun setting! Meetings will include hands-on activities, speakers,
and field trips. Students will have input on what they want to do! For 4th-8th graders.
Meets 4th Thursday of the month from 4-5 PM.  No December meeting.

Heritage Weavers and Fiber Artists’ Annual Fiber Expo: Saturday, January 26 from 10-3. Come to the Boarding House at Historic Johnson Farm for demonstrations, class sign-ups, and hands-on activities! Demonstrations include weaving, spinning, knitting, rug hooking, baskets, needle felting, wool applique, and more.

History Bites-Winter Lecture Series: Come learn about an interesting aspect of history while enjoying light refreshments. $5 per session.

Winter Workday Fun: January 21 10-3. Kids are out of school, so come on out to the farm. We will offer children’s tours of the farmhouse that include a lot of interaction and a scavenger hunt, and there will also be hot chocolate and a winter-themed craft. Tours are offered at 10 AM, 12 PM, and 2 PM. The craft will be out from 10-3, and you are more than welcome to come walk around the farm and visit the animals! $5 for kids; parents and grandparents are free! Candlelight Supper: February 15 at 6:00 PM. Come eat like the boarders would have in the Johnson Farmhouse! Professional chef Lisa Wilson, of Savoring Thyme Personal Chef, will provide a meal that Aunt Sallie herself might have cooked. The evening will start with a tour of the house focusing on the typical summer boarder’s experience. Then guests will sit down to eat a delicious meal. The menu will include pork tenderloin with herbed cream sauce, scalloped tomatoes, maple pecan green beans, corn fritters, and pound cake and ice cream. Cost is $100 per couple, and reservations and payment must be made in advance. Space is limited, so call 828-891-6585 or email to reserve your spot!

Spring Festival: April 27 10-4. Come out to the farm for the annual spring festival! There will be live music, children’s games and activities, crafters, demonstrators, food, bake sale, farm animals, wagon rides, Heritage Weavers and Fiber Artists, and more!
