Add a Little STEAM to Your K-8 Classroom

Story Design Kits

If you’re looking for an easy way to add Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts or Math (STEAM) into your classroom, we have a new and easy way to support your K-8 classrooms! Dr. King and the Curriculum and Instruction Department have purchased Story Design Projects and some of the reusable materials for supporting these projects. These project kits, produced by Barnes & Noble, use literature to spark creativity and innovation to produce great STEAM projects. Some of the kits have technology components which accompany the book and kit.

These kits are housed at Mills River Academy and are available for checkout by HCPS teachers. To learn more about the kits and how to check them out to use in your classroom, visit our STEAM Resources: Story Design Kits page.  We look forward to supporting the integration of STEAM activities into your curriculum.
