Starting a New Journey

Starting a new journey and saying goodbye

For the past 18 years I have had the honor of working in Instructional Technology at the district level. I came on board as the first Instructional Technology Facilitator in HCPS and my role has expanded and grown as the years have passed.  For 13 of these years, I have been able to collaborate with my awesome partner, Angie McClung, and we have become known collectively as the “@Team” by many. I think our boss, Rick Fender, actually coined that term because we were a dynamic duo! I am so proud of the work we have accomplished to support and grow technology integration throughout our district. I am confident that she will continue our program, making it even stronger and more effective!

Now I am starting a new journey. On July 26th I will begin a new chapter of my career with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, starting a new position as the Content Development Lead for the Rethink Education Program. This grant-funded program was designed to strengthen remote learning instruction, content, and access throughout the entire state of North Carolina. I am excited to start on this new journey, expanding my support role and continuing to strengthen instruction across our state.

Thank you, Henderson County Public Schools, for welcoming me into this amazing community. Although I am leaving my current role, I will be supporting you in a new way. I am proud to always be #HCPSFamily!
