HCPS Weather Update: Remote Learning Day Tuesday, February 3, 2026 (Optional Workday)
Good evening,
This is Mark Garrett, Superintendent of Henderson County Public Schools, calling with an update regarding tomorrow’s schedule.
What a difference a day makes! The sun and above freezing temperatures made a big dent in road conditions over the course of the afternoon. Alas it was not enough, but we are hoping the trend continues tomorrow with an eye on potentially getting our students back in school as early as Wednesday. Our crews will be out all day checking roads again, so send those positive vibes their way.
I guess I may have just let the cat out of the bag a little bit there, so I might as well let everyone know that Henderson County Public Schools will operate on a Remote Learning Day on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. It will be an optional workday for staff. Staff may report on a two hour delay and should continue to communicate with your supervisor if travel issues persist.
Students should refer to their choice boards and assignments that have now been updated. If you have questions or need support, please contact your student’s school on Tuesday.
We will be in touch again should the additional weather bring additional schedule changes, but let’s all hope that Punxsutawney Phil misses the mark on his prediction earlier today that there will be six more weeks of winter.

¡Qué diferencia hace un día! El sol y las temperaturas por encima del punto de congelación mejoraron considerablemente las condiciones de las carreteras durante la tarde. Esperamos que esta tendencia continúe mañana, con la posibilidad de que nuestros estudiantes regresen a la escuela el miércoles.
Las Escuelas Públicas del Condado de Henderson tendrán un día de aprendizaje a distancia el martes 3 de febrero de 2026. Será un día de trabajo opcional para el personal. El personal puede incorporarse con dos horas de retraso y debe seguir comunicándose con su supervisor si persisten los problemas de transporte.
Los estudiantes deben consultar sus tableros de actividades y tareas, que ya han sido actualizados. Si tienen preguntas o necesitan ayuda, comuníquese con la escuela de su hijo el martes.
