Child Nutrition Updates for the 2025-2026 School Year

As Henderson County Public Schools (HCPS) remains steadfast in its commitment to providing all students with access to wholesome meals throughout their school day, we want to make you aware of some important updates regarding our Child Nutrition Program.

PLEASE NOTE: The changes to our Child Nutrition Program cover two areas and impact ALL students at ALL schools in different ways.

No-cost breakfast and lunches will be available at Eight Eligible Schools:

Thanks to the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), students at the following eight schools will automatically receive free breakfast and lunch every day—no forms required!

  • Bruce Drysdale Elementary
  • Clear Creek Elementary
  • Dana Elementary
  • Edneyville Elementary
  • Henderson County Career Academy
  • Hillandale Elementary
  • Sugarloaf Elementary
  • Upward Elementary

If your child attends one of these schools, they simply show up and enjoy their meals—no paperwork needed.

If your child attends one of the following 15 schools, you will need to either:

Complete the 2025-2026 Online Meal Benefit Application at www.lunchapplication.com, OR Plan to pay for school meals.

Please note: Universal breakfast will no longer be available at these schools. Only students who qualify through the application will receive free breakfast. However, breakfast will still be available for all students. Students who do not qualify for free or reduced priced meals may purchase breakfast at all schools listed below.

All families with children in one of these 15 schools are encouraged to visit www.lunchapplication.com before the start of the new school year to see if your household qualifies for free meal benefits. Paper applications are also available at each school, but filling it out online results in faster processing of your application.

HCPS families are highly encouraged to take advantage of the “prepay” option for their children’s meals. Having a prepaid meal account helps the daily lunch lines move faster and it gives students more time to eat and relax with their friends.

Online payments are a simple, safe and secure way to make payments for students’ meals, and it’s accessible 24 hours a day. You can easily set up and/or manage your online account at K12PaymentCenter.com.
