Good Evening,
This is Mark Garrett, Superintendent of Henderson County Public Schools, with an important message for our community.
Over the course of the first quarter, we’ve been monitoring our communication systems and identified that some families have not been receiving phone notifications. Since then, we’ve been working to understand and resolve the issue. While this was not related to our student information system, Infinite Campus, we found that certain phone carriers or devices were flagging our outgoing number as spam.
To ensure future messages reach all families, we now have a new outgoing number—828-435-3480—that has been thoroughly tested and verified to work across all phone carriers. It’s very important to save this number as a contact so you’ll recognize future calls from your child’s school and Henderson County Public Schools.
Depending on your phone or carrier, the call may appear as “HCPS Messenger” or as “Potential Spam.” Please do not block this number—saving it as a contact will help ensure you know it’s from us.
We’re grateful to the families who helped bring this issue to our attention, and we appreciate your partnership as we continue to strengthen communication across our district.
Thank you for your support and attention to this important update.
