Have a Holly Jolly Mr. WHHS: A Festive Night of Talent and Giving Back to Families Affected by Hurricane Helene

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (Dec. 2, 2024) – The third annual Mr. WHHS (West Henderson High School) Pageant will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the West Henderson High School auditorium. This year’s event is part of a larger, united effort by McDowell, Watauga, and West Henderson High Schools to raise funds for families severely impacted by Hurricane Helene. 100% of all donations raised will be used to directly support the specific needs of these families.

Hosted by the West Henderson High School DECA Chapter, this year’s theme is “A Holly Jolly Mr. WHHS,” promising a festive and fun-filled evening. One of the unique aspects of the event is that it is fully organized by the students. They develop the theme, create the program, videos, choreography, posters, and T-shirt design.

“The Mr. WHHS Pageant has always been a celebration of our community, and this year, it’s even more meaningful as we unite with our neighbors to support those in need,” said Alison Garrett, Marketing Education Teacher and DECA Advisor at West Henderson High School. “We’re not only raising funds, but we’re also sending a powerful message of unity and compassion across our entire region.”

Contestants in the pageant raised a minimum of $200 each to participate, though many will exceed this goal. The event will feature various awards, including Mr. Money Maker, Mr. Congeniality, Mr. WHHS, and more, as well as a talent portion that showcases the participants’ unique skills and personalities.
