HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (Aug. 23, 2022) – Out of an abundance of caution, local Law enforcement officials placed Hendersonville Elementary and Hendersonville Middle School on a Code Yellow (precautionary) lockdown Tuesday morning.
At approximately 10 am the lockdown went into place and was lifted at 10:40 am.. The precautionary lockdown was enacted following a traffic stop for a minor traffic offense in the area. The individual at the traffic stop fled the scene and was apprehended a short time later. Due to the proximity of the traffic stop to the schools, officers initiated the lockdown protocols.
There was no direct threat to the schools or the public.
