HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (July 1, 2020) – Following approval by the Henderson County Board of Public Education on Tuesday evening, Henderson County Public Schools (HCPS) announces the following principal changes for the 2020-2021 school year, effective July 1:

Joni Allison has been named the new principal at Hendersonville Middle, filling the office vacated by Luke Manuel when he transitioned to his new role as principal at West Henderson High. Allison spent the last year at Hendersonville Middle as full-time assistant principal, after spending three years as Assistant Principal at West Henderson High. Prior to her administrative roles, Allison served HCPS for three years as an instructional coach, mentoring and supporting beginning teachers through professional development. Allison joined HCPS in 2006 as an ESL teacher, after teaching English as a second language for three years in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Katelyn Davis has been named the new principal of Apple Valley Middle, where she’s served the last two years as Assistant Principal, following the retirement of former principal Peggy Marshall. Davis began her teaching career in 2007 in South Carolina, and also served as a graduation coach in the Anderson School District 5 through 2014. She joined HCPS in 2014 as Assistant Principal at North Henderson High where she served through 2017, before briefly transitioning to an Assistant Principalship position in Fayetteville, Georgia. Davis returned to the Knights – this time at the middle school level – in 2018 as Assistant Principal at Apple Valley Middle, where she’s served since.
