HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (Jan. 15, 2019) – Henderson County Early College high school is currently accepting enrollment applications for the 2019-20 school year, and will be hosting an Open House for prospective students and families Thursday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. at the Innovative High Schools on the Blue Ridge Community College campus.

Henderson County 8th-, 9th- and 10th-graders are encouraged to apply to this advanced program, which offers students the opportunity to graduate in five years with a high school diploma and a two-year Associate’s degree with transferable credits to a four-year university, at little or no cost for families.

Students interested in attending must complete an application and be accepted to HCEC. Students who attend HCEC must be willing to accept the responsibility for their academic growth in a rigorous environment and have the potential to succeed in honors-level and college classes with the support of a caring faculty. The program is ideal for students who wish to transfer to a four-year North Carolina public university upon graduation.

During the Feb. 7 Open House, prospective students and families will learn more about the Early College, tour the school, and meet staff and faculty. Enrollment applications  are available in Henderson County Public Schools counselors’ offices and at the Early College office in the Innovative High Schools building, located at 300 East Campus Drive in Flat Rock.

The deadline for enrollment applications is Friday, Feb. 22, with prospective student interviews to follow in March. Questions about the enrollment process may be directed to HCEC School Counselor Mandi Willingham at 828-697-4561.
