Drop-In Reception to Honor Retiring School Board Members

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (Jan. 2, 2019) – A drop-in retirement reception honoring recently retired Henderson County Board of Public Education members Lisa Edwards and Colby Coren will be held at The Cedars on Friday, Jan. 11, from 3:30-5 p.m.

Lisa Edwards joined the Henderson County Board of Education in December 2006, and attended her last meeting Dec. 10, 2018. Having spent the past 12 years serving the students and staff of Henderson County Public Schools during three consecutive 4-terms on the Board of Education, Edwards looks forward to traveling the country with her husband in their retirement together.

Colby Coren was sworn onto the Board of Education in December 2014, and served just shy of one term. He retired from the board in August 2018 to pursue his passion for education as a teacher’s assistant at Clear Creek Elementary.

The public is invited to a drop-in reception honoring Edwards and Coren on Friday, January 11, from 3:30-5 p.m. at The Cedars (211 7th Avenue West, Hendersonville).
