We look forward to welcoming our Eagles back on Monday, December 1st for the final push to the end of the semester!

Eagle of the Week

Mrs. Threatt in EOTW frame
Our Eagle of the Week is Mrs. Threatt. Even though she has only been at our school for three days, she has already stepped up in an incredible way, taking on the role of science teacher with confidence, compassion, and true dedication. In such a short time, she’s shown how much she cares about her students by supporting us, encouraging us, and making us feel valued. We are so thankful to have her as part of the Eagle family, and her positivity and hard work make her more than deserving of being named #EagleOfTheWeek. Thank you so much for stepping up and helping our students tremendously!

On Monday, our Adventure Club took a drive to Fiddlehead after school for their annual indoor rock climbing adventure. The crew had a great time challenging themselves in new ways, and we’re thankful to Mr. Gorovoy for keeping this club active and engaged.

Our library is always a great place to go for crafts and thematic fun, and last week was no different! Students were able to write gratitude leaves, do a giant Thanksgiving word search, make different types of crafty turkeys, and even complete some Thanksgiving-themed Breakout boxes. We’re thankful that Mrs. Justice keeps our creative juices flowing!

SGA has been working hard on making sure our feeder elementary schools have all the help they need for all the events they need to pull off on a weekly basis. Last week, SGA leaders helped at two Thanksgiving events at Dana and Atkinson. We are thankful for their willingness to step up to help our future Eagles!

For most of last week, our FFA livestock judging team made a trip to Kentucky to take part in the National Livestock Judging show (NAILE). Mr. Rollins and Ms. Thompson treated the team to several different agriculture-related learning opportunities surrounding the competition, and they even had time for some fun activities too – some bowling and trips to the Louisville Slugger Museum and Churchill Downs. These students gained valuable real life experience showing them what livestock judging on a big stage really means.
