Thank You for a Great Homecoming Week!
There was so much fun had last week for Homecoming Week – spirit week, the Ro Sham Bo contest, the pep rally, our Interfaith Assistance Ministry drive, Homecoming Court, the football game, Dairio Spirit Night, volleyball senior night, and so much more! Thank you to all of you who participated to help add a little more school spirit to the halls! We loved celebrating this place we call HOME – East Henderson!
While some photos from the week’s festivities are featured in the “Last Week in Eagle Country” section, more photos will be coming next week too. GO EAGLES!
FRMS Bus Route Number Changes
 |
As many of you know, FRMS bus numbers have been ever-changing over the course of the first nine weeks. We received word from the Bus Garage that the numbers currently assigned are now permanent. This was communicated via TeamReach yesterday afternoon, but we wanted to share this information here for anyone who rides a FRMS bus. The numbers are listed in the image above. Please contact Dane Lancaster (FRMS bus administrator) with any questions. |
PowderPuff 2025 is TUESDAY!
 |
This Tuesday, October 7th, come watch the underclassmen take on the upperclassmen in their yearly match-up of flag football on E.L. Justus Field! Some new faces will be on the sideline cheering, too, and you won’t want to miss it! Tickets are $5 at the door (no athletic passes), and kick off is at 7:30pm. The concession stand will be open! The theme is PINK OUT FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS, so gather up all your pink gear and join us! See you there! |
HCPS Flu Clinic Information
 |
 |
Henderson County Public Schools is partnering with the Henderson County Department of Public Health to host after-school flu vaccination clinics at high schools across the county. These clinics are open to all Henderson County families with students in grades K-12. Each clinic will take place from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the following locations:
- North Henderson High School Cafeteria – October 7, 4-6 p.m.35 Fruitland Road, Hendersonville
- East Henderson High School Cafeteria – October 9, 4-6 p.m.110 Upward Road, East Flat Rock
- West Henderson High School Cafeteria – October 16, 4-6 p.m.3600 Haywood Road, Hendersonville
- Hendersonville High School Media Center – October 20, 4-6 p.m.1 Bearcat Boulevard, Hendersonville
Adults and children who are uninsured or underinsured are welcome.
Why the Flu Vaccine Matters
- Flu vaccination is recommended each year for everyone 6 months and older.
- Vaccination reduces flu illness, doctor visits, and missed school/work.
- Even if you still get the flu, vaccination usually makes symptoms milder and lowers the risk of hospitalization.
- Protecting yourself also helps protect family, classmates, and neighbors from getting sick.
What to Bring
Insurance or Medicaid card, if available
No past vaccine records needed
Flu shots and nasal spray options will be available.
For more information, visit www.hendersoncountync.gov/health or call 828-692-4223. |
A Unique Concert Experience is this Thursday

On Thursday, October 9th at 7:00pm, come support senior Dalton Halford’s Leave a Legacy Project by enjoying a night of southern gospel in the East High auditorium. Performing that evening will be The Kingsmen and The LeFevre Quartet. Admission is $10 at the door, and additional donations are appreciated to help support the East High chorus program. |

New East Pullovers for Sale
 |
Our new black East quarter-zip pullovers are now for sale in the main office. Each pullover is $40, and they are available in sizes medium through 3XL. These are extremely soft and warm, and they have pockets as well. Cash, check or credit card are accepted for payment. Please see Mrs. Bishop at the front desk to make a purchase. |
Freshman Academy Tutoring
 |
All Class of 2029 students are invited to tutoring every Wednesday either before or after school. This time is designed for extra help, test or assignment make-up, or reassessment. No advanced sign up is required. |
2nd Chance Breakfast is back!
Starting today, September 29th, HCPS has reintroduced high school students to 2nd Chance Breakfast, a program designed to help students get a second opportunity to get a good breakfast to help make it through the school day.
Hot breakfast will continue to be served up until 8:00, and 2nd Chance Breakfast will be served as a grab-n-go option between 1st and 2nd periods. The cost of this bagged breakfast is $1.25.
That being said, this is NOT Universal Breakfast. That means if a student normally has to pay for their lunch, they will have to pay for their breakfast. If they normally don’t have to pay for their lunch, they won’t have to pay for breakfast either.
Remember that school meal accounts can be loaded using the K12 Payment Center online.
Camp Tekoa is Hiring!

Eagle of the Week
 |
This week’s Eagle of the Week is Jose Ruiz Cesar and Shamila Vazquez. Both students demonstrated incredible teamwork as Spanish announcers at Noche Hispana. Thank you, Jose and Shamila, for being prime examples of what a team should be!
Thank You Custodians!
 |
 |
Thursday, October 2nd was Custodian Appreciation Day, and East High has a fantastic custodial staff to celebrate every day! Especially after working extra hard to get our campus looking great for Homecoming Week last week, these five Eagles deserve so much praise for being willing to serve in a way that truly makes us better. We are so thankful for the extremely hard work and great pride that these Eagles exhibit each day! We love our custodians! |
Last Week in Eagle Country
    |
    |
Spirit Week always brings out lots of creativity and innocent fun! Thank you to everyone who dressed up to get in on the action! |
   |
    |
It’s been many many years since East has hosted its Homecoming dance in the gym, but 2025 brought us back to Eagle Pride Drive for a fun night celebrating being an Eagle! Over 300 Eagles joined the fun and danced the night away looking great! |
  |
  |
We ended the week with a pep rally for all students and staff filled with games, recognitions, laughs, and a whole lot of Eagle PRIDE! Performers included our Eagle Regiment, JV and Varsity Cheer teams, and Dance Team, who all did a phenomenal job! Our fall sports were recognized as well, and we ended as we always do – with our fight song! |
Go Eagles!
