Marlow Monday Message, April 24th, 2023

Henderson County Public Schools News

Good evening, Marlow families!

Brr!!! It sure didn’t feel like Spring out there this morning with lows in the 30’s, but it turned into a beautiful Monday afternoon. Here we are, the last week of April, and we are getting closer to the start of End-of-Year assessments.

From mClass assessments, iReady Diagnostics, EOG’s, and everything in between, I am so proud of the hard work our Buckaroos have put in this year, and now it is time to show us all what you have learned and what you can do! Student attendance is also so important this time of year, so please be sure our students are here every day and ready to learn.

This week, we are also celebrating Administrative Professionals Day on Wednesday, and with that, I want to give a huge Marlow Shout-Out to Mrs. Spray and Mrs. Pittman in the front office. Both of these ladies are the best of the best, and keep our Front Office in tip-top shape, and our school running smoothly.

For all that you do, Ms. Spray and Ms. Pittman, thank you! We appreciate you!

With Mustang Pride,

John Hart

Principal

Spring Scholastic Book Fair

Our Spring Scholastic Book Fair is at Marlow all this week, April 24-28th! The Book Fair is open each day from 7:45 am to 3:30 pm. All students will be visiting the book fair during Media Specials time, and will be able to buy books, do activities and games, and have fun!

There are a few ways you can shop at the book fair:

  • You may send cash or check with your child the day they are scheduled for Media Specials
  • You may create an e-wallet for your child using the E-wallet website
  • You may come to book fair with your child during the school day!

Join us for Book Fair Family night on Tuesday, April 25th from 5-7 pm. Bring the family to visit the book fair and encourage a love for reading.

All purchases benefit our school and help purchase books and technology for the Media Center and classrooms. Our goal is $10,000 in total sales. Thank you for all your support and see you at the Book Fair!

GMES Spirit Night at Chick-Fil-A (on Airport Road) on April 25th

Join us on Tuesday, April 25th for Glenn Marlow Spirit Night @ Chick-fil-A on Airport Road, from 5pm – 8pm. The more we come out and support, the more $$ we get back!
Hope to see you all there!

Cheerleading: If you are interested in trying out for Fall Cheerleading, please see the Cheerleading Interest Flyer for information.

Lost and Found

With these chilly mornings and warm afternoons, our Lost and Found continues to grow with reckless abound!

We ask students frequently to please make sure that they are keeping track of their jackets, sweat shirts, hats, water bottles, and everything in between during the course of the day.

Parents, best practice is to be sure that your child’s name is written somewhere inside the clothing.

Parents are free to come anytime to look through our Lost and Found, located by the Gym entrance. Thanks so much for your help.

Morning Car Rider Line

A reminder to AM car riders, once the 8:00 am bell rings, we will place a blue sign on the sidewalk, stating that you must come inside to sign your child in.

Please do not allow your child to walk down the sidewalk and into school if there is no staff member present outside. If you see the blue sign out, you must park and walk them inside to sign them in.

Thank you for your help with this.
