Important Phone Calls This Week

clipart of a hand holding a mobile phoneAt the September 8 meeting of the Board of Education, the Board will consider a recommendation for students to return to a hybrid face-to-face and virtual learning model.

In order for this Plan B recommendation to be fully considered, it is very important that we know two key details:

  1. Do you plan to send your child/children to school for face-to-face instruction or will you enroll in the fully remote, virtual learning option for the first semester?
  2. If you plan to send your child/children to school, will they ride the bus to and from school each day?

This week, a Fletcher staff member will be contacting you directly to confirm your response to each of these questions.  A summary of all school information will then be presented to the Board of Education at the September 8 meeting.

Procedures for Remote Learning

As we enter our third week of remote learning, we would like to remind students and parents of some procedures our school must follow while learning from home.  We set these procedures to help our teachers be more effective and to help our students be more productive.

While participating in remote learning lessons:

  • Students must follow the school’s dress code.
  • Set up a special work space.  Avoid using your bed as a workspace.
  • Avoid distractions.  Turn off the TV and video game consoles.  Turn your cell phone off or leave it in another room during your lessons.
  • Be aware of your environment.  Background images and noises in your workspace can be seen and heard by everyone who has joined the Google Meet.  This is an important reminder for parents as well.
