AM Car Rider Line Fundraiser for the Gibbs Family
Our community has a legacy of supporting one another in times of need. Unfortunately, one of our Flat Rock Students and her family lost their home in a house fire last Sunday. We will be hosting a fundraiser for the Gibbs family in the morning car rider line Tuesday, January 30th-Friday, February 2nd. Cash, change, or check donations will be accepted. Please make checks out to Flat Rock Middle School so we can combine all donations into one payment for the family. If your child is not a car rider and you’d like to send in a donation, the front office will also be accepting donations next week. Thank you for your help!
Kinship Caregiver Coffee and Connection
Are you the caregiver/guardian of a child who is not your biological child? The Kinship Family Support line is sponsoring a get-together to provide support to families involved in kinship placements/guardianship. The event is at The Boys and Girls Club (1304 Ashe St, Hendersonville) on Tuesday, January 30th at 8:30 am. Enjoy a cup of coffee, pastries, and connection with other grandparents raising grandchildren or family/friends raising relative children. Email luv4kin@gmail.com with questions or to let them know if you plan to attend.

American Fundraiser
Today, we are starting our Fall Fundraising Program. This year, our students will be selling from “American Made,” a collection of cookie dough, nuts, snacks, candles, wrapping paper, and chocolates, all proudly made in the USA! The proceeds from this sale will benefit students by allowing us to make purchases that improve our school’s overall quality of learning.
Students brought home a sales packet today that includes a prize envelope, parent letter, order form, and product catalog. It is very important that parents carefully read the parent letter for directions and more information about prizes. The parent letter is also being sent to parents’ email addresses.
We encourage students to sell as much as they can through online purchases. That is the quickest way they can earn prizes! There’s also the option for customers to pay with cash or check upon delivery of their items. Delivery is expected to take 3-4 weeks.
Students who sell at least 12 items will attend our MEGA Party in October. There will be inflatables, a foam cannon, music, games, and snow cones! If a family prefers not to sell, a donation can be made. Students who don’t sell but donate at least $30 will also attend the MEGA Party in October.

No Cost for Student Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast and lunch is now available at no cost for ALL students for the 2023-2024 school year. This went into effect on August 16, 2023.
What does this mean for the HCPS Family?
- This program encompasses balanced and nutritious meals, ensuring that your child has access to wholesome food throughout their school day. Our focus is not only on their academic growth but also on their physical and emotional well-being. By removing the financial burden associated with daily meals, we hope to create an environment where every student can thrive without any worries about their next meal.
- It is important to note that while this program covers breakfast and lunch offerings, extra items are available for purchase.
- If a student wishes to purchase extra items such as ice cream, snacks or extra meals, these may be purchased with cash or through available funds on students’ accounts. If your child already has funds on their account, they can use them for these items. You can easily set up and/or manage your online account at K12PaymentCenter.com.
