- 8th Grade Welcome to the Rock, 5:30-6:30
- August 11: First Day of School
- September 1: Labor Day Holiday, No School for Staff or Students
URGENT: Must Complete by August 8, 2025
Parent/Guardians must complete the HCPS Google Account Consent & Chromebook User Agreement by August 8, 2025 to keep their student’s HCPS Google Account active. It is critical that parents complete this form. Our students will need to use their account to access classroom assignments and resources throughout the school year. You should have received this information previously from our HCPS Technology Department. As of July 15, 2025, we still have over 500 students whose parents have not completed this agreement. Please complete this as soon as possible.
6th Grade Orientation
6th Grade Orientation is on Thursday, July 31, 2025. Students should be dropped off in the car rider line between 8:00 and 8:30. Then, we invite parents to come back to Flat Rock from 11:30-1:30 for 6th Grade Welcome to The Rock. From 11:30-1:30 you can pick up student schedules, meet the teachers, get information about bus transportation, check out our athletics and extracurricular activities, and get signed up to join our Eagle Outlook parent group. Our newest Eagles get very nervous about coming to middle school, but this event helps them feel prepared and excited. Please plan to join us!
Athletics
IMPORTANT NOTE: The games for all fall sports teams begin soon after we return to school. All fall sports teams will hold off-season voluntary workouts to condition and prepare for the upcoming season. Please join your sport’s Team Reach group so you can stay informed about what’s happening! Also, please join the Flat Rock Athletics Team Reach, where reminders of upcoming events are posted.

- Infinite Campus: PowerSchool is no longer the Student Information System for NC Public Schools. We are transitioning to Infinite Campus this year. Parents should have received instructions for setting up your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account using your unique GUID. The instructions that have been sent included your unique GUID. You can also email our data manager, Kim Blythe and she can send you your unique GUID.
