“Great Leaders Start Here”

Atkinson Elementary is located in the southwest part of Henderson County in the Valley Hill district.  Atkinson is set in a wooded locale with a stream flowing through the campus that provides a unique environment.  Students have consistently performed well on standardized assessments and our school has been recognized as a NC School of Distinction and a NC Honor School of Excellence while exceeding expected growth. Students, staff, and families all agree that Atkinson is a community where everyone feels welcome and invited to be actively involved in the learning process.
