Greetings Rugby families! This is John McDaris, Principal of Rugby Middle School. I am excited to extend an invitation to all families to join us for our Welcome Back! events. We are excited to welcome everyone back to school and want to give you and your student the information you need to help your family have a great start to the school year!

The first event of the day is our 6th Grade Orientation, which will take place on Thursday, August 18. 6th grade students should plan to arrive at the main entrance of school by 8:00 am. From there, they will report to the gym and be assigned to an 8th grade student mentor who will guide them through a day of fun-filled activities, tours, and learning sessions designed to help prepare them for their first day of school. We also plan to provide a pizza lunch for all of our 6th grade students. Parents of 6th grade students should plan to return to school at 2:00 pm to pick up their student(s) in the car rider line.

The next event is our Welcome Back! event for all of our 6th grade students and parents. This event will take place on Tuesday, August 23 and will begin promptly at 3:30 pm. Doors will open at 3:00 and families can plan on the event ending by 5:30. At this event, families will have the opportunity to meet with me, learn about all of the new things at Rugby, hear from our Rugby Engaged Partners group, meet teachers, make necessary purchases for the year, and much more. For families that wish to avoid standing in lines, there will be online purchase options for all necessary items sent out next week. We have a new, user-friendly online purchasing system that will make all of your school purchases stress-free!

The final event is our Welcome Back! event for all of our 7th/8th grade students and parents. This event will take place on Wednesday, August 24 and will begin promptly at 3:30 pm. Doors will open at 3:00 and families can plan on the event ending by 5:30. At this event, families will have the opportunity to meet with me, learn about all of the new things at Rugby, hear from our Rugby Engaged Partners group, meet teachers, make necessary purchases for the year, and much more.

For families that wish to avoid standing in lines, there will be online purchase options for all necessary items sent out next week. We have a new, user-friendly online purchasing system that will make all of your school purchases stress-free! If you are unable to attend at your designated time, please let us know and we would be happy to connect you with necessary information so that your student is ready for the first day of school.
