Message from Mr. Moore – Week of 10/12-10/16/2020

Rugby words from the principal
Due to the age of this article, the information below could be outdated or incorrect.

As we head into the final week of the first quarter of the 2020-21 school year, it is very important that schools and families are working together to help students succeed. Teachers are working hard to chase down late work submissions and giving students chances to catch up. Please login to PowerSchool to check your student’s progress and reach out to teachers if needed. The first quarter ends Friday, so time is of the essence. Report cards will be available for PowerSchool viewing next Friday, 10/23.

With our online start and the shift to Plan B, HCPS has modified the academic calendar. The changes are that next Monday, 10/19, and Tuesday 11/3 are now Optional Teacher Workdays.

HCPS Flu Shot clinics will look a little different this year, but the school system and the Henderson County Dept. of Public Health are partnering to provide clinics for our school communities. The clinic for the West Henderson community is this Tuesday at West Henderson High School from 4-6 pm. HCPS families can attend any of the county clinics, an no appointment is necessary, and shots are available for students and family members. Other clinics in the county are as follows:
Hendersonville High School, Wednesday, October 14, 4:00-6:00 pm
East Henderson High School, Thursday, October 15, 4:00-6:00 pm
North Henderson High School, Monday, October 19, 12:00-4:00 pm

We want to highlight and thank our students for the great job they are doing in following our safety protocols. Our students are doing great and seem to know that our ability to all stay safe depends on all of us.

As always, we hope you will let us know if you have feedback or concerns. Our success depends upon our open communication and cooperation with the families we serve. Please reach out to the school at 828-891-6566 if you have questions.
