National History Day

Rugby had about 50 students participating at National History Day in Cullowhee this past Saturday. The following students were winners at the regional competition and will move on to the state competition: Braden Lance, Ari Sellas, Myla Rowbotham, Rachael Smith, Lucy Sloan, Ella Pickard, Noelle Houlihan, Kayley O’Malley, and Ellie Proctor. Thanks to Mrs. Waycaster, Ms. McCrary, Mrs. McCall and Ms. Futch for their help with these students.

Reading Raiders

Our March Reading Raiders is a joint venture with the Henderson County Public Library. Along with the library, we will host Jennifer A. Nielsen as we focus on her book, A Night Divided. She will present at 6:15 pm in the main branch of the public library in Hendersonville, and the public is welcome.

Reporting App

We want to continue to encourage families and students to use the new reporting app, Say Something. For parents or students who would prefer not to download the app, the Say Something website linked here provides students with the same ability to report concerns. Please encourage your students to use this system as needed to help keep everyone safe.

Spring Sports

Spring Sports competition is underway, and we would love for you to come support our student athletes. Just a reminder that baseball will play home games at Berkeley Park, while softball and soccer will play on campus. Our track teams will hold their home meets at West Henderson High School.

REP NEWS

The next REP Meeting will be on Tuesday, March 10 at 1:30 at RMS. Please join us! Dr. John Bryant will be at this meeting to discuss and answer questions regarding the proposed 2021-2022 school calendar. We will also finalize Teacher Appreciation plans.
