Volley for Vets:<\/h3>\n

Last week, our Blue Ridge Conference Champion volleyball team battled our staff volleyball team in the name of raising money for the Blue Ridge Honor Flight.\u00a0 While the youngsters eked out a victory against our staff, the true winner is the Blue Ridge Honor Flight. At most recent count, we had raised just over $1,600, enough to send three veterans on the Honor Flights to Washington, DC to see the memorials.\u00a0 If you wanted to contribute and did not, we will still accept donations until Friday, November 8, when we will present a check to Blue Ridge Honor Flight.<\/p>\n

12th Annual RMS Veterans Luncheon:<\/h3>\n

We plan to honor our students\u2019 parents, guardians or grandparents who have served in the armed forces.\u00a0 We want to treat our veterans to lunch and have them join their student for a luncheon program on Friday, November 8, 2019, in our Media Center from 11:30 am-1:00 pm.\u00a0 Check with your student\u2019s RT Teacher, or call the school to find out more information.<\/p>\n

Winter Sport tryouts:<\/h3>\n

Winter Sport tryouts begin this week with girls (Oct 29-Nov 1, 3:00-4:30 pm) and boys (Oct 29-Nov 1, 4:30-6:00 pm) basketball.\u00a0 Wrestling tryouts will begin next Monday, November 4 at 3:00 pm. Remember, students must have a current sports physical in order to try out.<\/p>\n

We would like to extend a HUGE, GIGANTIC THANK YOU to all of the REP members who put together the chili bar for our early dismissal day.\u00a0 It was excellent!!!<\/h2>\n

Volunteer Opportunities:<\/h4>\n

-Ms. Denton needs items for Mary Poppins. If you can help out, please deliver items to WHHS on Oct. 26 at 10 am. We also need parents (and students) who can help build sets, paint sets, and make props. We have two build days – Oct. 26, 10 am until ? and Nov. 2, 10 am until ?. Both build days will take place at West High’s Theater. Bring your lunch and tools for a fun time of community!<\/p>\n
