We at Marlow teach and encourage all our students to show respectful, responsible behaviors.\u00a0 To further this, there are behavior expectations for each area\/setting of the school.\u00a0 When you visit the halls, cafeteria or other parts of the school, you will see posters with the expectations on them.\u00a0 These expectations are based upon Marlow\u2019s High Five:<\/p>\n
Teachers teach these expectations to the children.\u00a0Students learn appropriate behavior through instruction, practice, feedback and encouragement.<\/p>\n
Your child may say that he\/she received a \u201cGotcha ticket\u201d.\u00a0 These tickets are given to the children when they are seen exemplifying one of Marlow\u2019s expectations.\u00a0 The tickets are then put in a central location, and on Mondays, fifteen tickets are drawn; five from K-1, five from 2-3, and five from 4-5.\u00a0 The winners are rewarded with small prizes, coupons, tickets for popcorn, etc.\u00a0 In addition, after each multiple of four tickets is earned, a small hand \u201cbead\u201d is given to the child.\u00a0 The children really look forward to Fridays because they are allowed to wear these beads on a chain at school.\u00a0 They also get to keep the necklaces at the end of the school year.<\/p>\n
The high expectations here at Marlow, and the reinforcement for meeting these expectations, has made Marlow a friendly and positive place to learn and work.\u00a0 Please feel free to ask your child\u2019s teacher if you have more questions concerning how we reinforce positive behavior.<\/p>\n
