Marlow Monday Message, August 2nd, 2021

Henderson County Public Schools News

Good evening Glenn Marlow Parents and Students, this is John Hart, Principal of Glenn Marlow Elementary School with the first Marlow Monday Message of the 2021 – 2022 school year. Yes, I know, it’s only August 2nd, but school will be here before you know it, and the more Back-to-School information you have now, the easier everyone’s transition back to school hopefully will be. Here are this week’s news and notes for Monday, August 2, 2021:

  • Class supply list can be found on our school website, As in the past, it is allowed and encouraged that students bring their supplies to “Meet the Teacher” to be put away in the classroom so that students do not have such a big load on the first day of school.
  • Calling all Marlow Dads! Calling all Marlow Dads! The Marlow Dads ‘n Donuts group will have its first gathering this Saturday, August 7th, beginning at 8:30 am, in the front entrance parking lot at the school. We will be working on the grounds, getting some beautification work done before school begins, and we need your help!! Even if you have never been out before, now is the time! We would love to see this group hit record numbers this year, so come on out! Weed-eaters, wheelbarrows, and other lawn tools are always needed, so “bring ’em if you got ’em.” See you there!
  • This Sunday, August 8th, Mills River Park is hosting a free community event called Party in the Park. Sponsored by Mills River United Methodist Church, Party in the Park is a wonderful community event with food, games, free school supplies, a DJ, inflatables, and much more! Local non-profits will also be on-site. Party in the Park will go on from 4 pm – 6 pm.

I hope that everyone takes some time to enjoy these last few weeks of summer, and students, get ready for another awesome year at Glenn Marlow. If you have any questions, please do hesitate to contact the school at 828-654-3225.

Thank you, and have a good evening. JHart
