Good evening Glenn Marlow parents and students! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, stayed warm and dry this morning, and is looking forward to another great week at GMES! We hope that we are able to get in a full week of school without Mother Nature interrupting.
Here is this week’s Marlow Monday Message:
- Just a reminder that our school day begins at 8am. The doors open at 7:30 am, and it is imperative that we have all students in the building by 8am to begin their school day on time. For morning car rider line, the earlier you arrive, the better. Traffic coming into the school flows best when cars “alternate the merge” turning into the entrance. Our main goal is to get everyone through the morning line safely, so please be mindful and work together to make this happen! Don’t forget… If you see the blue sign come out on the sidewalk, you must walk inside to sign your child in. Thank you for your help ensuring that your child has a smooth start to their school day.
- Please remember that all persons (students, staff, visitors) that enter the building must have masks on. This is a requirement from the NCDHHS and HCPS, and any exceptions must be documented and kept on file here at the school.
- Now that all grade levels are back in school full time, I wanted to re-share this document from the NCDHHS regarding COVID-19 screenings and protocols in schools. Please review over this document, and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to call our school nurses, Krista Nelson or Jennifer McAllister. Ultimately, if your child is experiencing any one of these five target symptoms (fever, chills, new cough, shortness of breath, or loss of taste or smell), please notify their teacher and take them to the doctor. If a COVID test is administered, that student and all siblings must stay home from school until the results have come back. In the long run, “playing it safe” and keeping students home if they are not feeling well will keep everyone healthy and our school open during this unprecedented time.
- Don’t forget, you can always check out the HCPS district updates in the R2L Weekly, sent out every Thursday evening. Included in the February 18th edition is information for Kindergarten Registration (which opens ONLINE Tuesday, Feb. 23), an important update about the state’s Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program for families, and information on how you can help us celebrate our amazing educators on N.C. Digital Learning Day!
Thank you for all that you do. Have a great night!
