Henderson County Public Schools News

Good evening Glenn Marlow parents and students– I hope everyone had a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving break. We have a little less than 3 ½ weeks until the Christmas break and after today, only 4 Mondays left in 2020! Yippee!

Here is this week’s news and announcements:

  • The Marlow PTO will once again be hosting Spirit Night for Glenn Marlow Elementary on Tuesday, December 1 at the Hendersonville Chick-Fil-A on Highlands Square Drive. Tomorrow night, between 5:00pm – 8:00pm, use the drive-thru to either pick up a mobile order or to place your order, tell the attendant you are there for Glenn C. Marlow Elementary Spirit Night, and a portion of your dinner sales will be donated back to our school. Remember: you must tell the attendant that you are there for Glenn Marlow Elementary.
  • As we enter into the cold season of the 2020-2021 school year, please make sure that you and your child continue taking the proper steps necessary to stay healthy during this time of year. COVID or no COVID, washing your hands with soap and water, wearing your face covering, keeping your distance from others who may be sick, and wiping down and disinfecting surfaces that may contain germs are just a few preventative steps you can take to ensure your children and your household remain as healthy as possible. Our Buckaroos are reminded each morning during the morning announcements to “remember your 3 W’s.” Working together, we can stay healthy during this cold time of year. Thank you for so much for your continued support in this endeavor.
  • Also along the lines with this time of year is the threat of inclement weather, which may cause schools to be closed, or in the event inclement weather strikes during the school day, cause students to be dismissed early. Please make sure you have up-to-date contact information in PowerSchool so that alert calls can reach you. As well, please be sure you have communicated with your child’s teacher as to how your child will be getting home if school is dismissed early for inclement weather. The fewer phone calls coming into the school on a crazy day like that, the better.
  • Last year, the Marlow PTO set up an Amazon Smile account for the Marlow PTO. As the online shopping season runs in full swing, and if you shop on Amazon, you can register the Marlow PTO on Amazon Smile and a portion of your purchases will go directly back to the PTO. You can register via the Marlow PTO Smile link, or you can go to Smile at Amazon’s website and search Marlow PTO. Sign up with your Amazon account today, and thank you for supporting our school!

Thank you for all you do. Have a great evening.
