\"2019-2020This year we have another round of Project Empower Pilot Teachers from grades K-5! We are excited to begin with another group of educators to develop technology integration skills and strategies to enhance instruction for our students. Participating teachers will receive over 30 hours of face-t0-face professional development and time to explore tools and strategies specific for their classrooms of students. We have 26 teachers and 3 elementary instructional coaches embarking on this endeavor.\u00a0 This group will be the fifth year of Pilot Teachers for Henderson County Public Schools, continuing to increase our teacher capacity for supporting one another in blended learning and technology integration.<\/p>\n

\"Computer<\/p>\n

Project Empower has been a three-pronged mission to build teacher capacity and student learning. The Pilot Teacher program was the first focus of this initiative, bringing intensive monthly training to smaller groups of eager teachers. The second layer was a professional development partnership with the Friday Institute for cohorts of teachers to participate in several blended learning sessions supported with funds from Golden LEAF. The final piece is the placement of Chromebooks into classrooms brought about by the support of the Henderson County Commissioners and other local funding. This three-pronged approach has helped to create a strong group of teachers leading the way, supporting other teachers with using these devices more effectively with students.
