They were joined by the entire Yellow Jacket student body, which will call the new building home next year.<\/p>\n<p>While the future of Hendersonville High remains unknown, county and school leaders took the time to highlight the successful collaboration between the two boards that resulted in a new school for Edneyville.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a recognition of the work that the Board of Commissioners, board of education and the community as a whole have done together,\u201d said Michael Edney, chair of the Board of Commissioners. \u201cThis is a project that we can all be proud of because we\u2019re all in it together for the kids and for the community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Edneyville community has always taken pride in its schools and this one will take its place in that tradition,\u201d said School Board Vice Chair Rick Wood. \u201cThis beautiful new school that we\u2019re breaking ground for today is a result of two elected boards working together to meet an identified need for a new school.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2987\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hendersoncountypublicschoolsnc.org\/edn\/files\/2018\/09\/40500454_1011477675690638_2861927663570780160_n.jpg\" alt=\"Students line up outside.
