Welcome to Our\u00a0Art Academy<\/h1>\n
\n

All four levels of Art will learn based on the T.A.B (Teaching Artistic Behaviors) model. T.A.B focuses on student-directed learning and creation. Students will have a significant level of choice in the IHS Art program.<\/p>\n

Beginning Art<\/strong><\/h2>\n

will begin with a focus on art-skill building, transitioning into guided projects to help support students in creating individualized learning goals and developing Artistic Behaviors<\/strong>. Students will then be responsible for planning and executing their own projects<\/p>\n

Intermediate Art<\/strong><\/h2>\n

builds upon Beginning Art<\/strong>. This level of art will begin with a refresher of art skills, and incorporation of new skills. Students will complete one or two guided projects to reinforce what was previously learned about creating individualized learning goals and developing Artistic Behaviors<\/strong>. After this, students will transition into full responsibility for project creation and execution.<\/p>\n

Proficient\/Accomplished Art and Advanced Art<\/strong><\/h2>\n

are both honors level courses. Students in these courses will be responsible for showing understanding of previously learned art skills, and for choosing what new skills to learn. A guided project will be provided to students who request a refresher before venturing back into full responsibility for project creation and execution.
