{"id":290,"date":"2017-08-25T10:37:49","date_gmt":"2017-08-25T14:37:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hendersoncountypublicschoolsnc.org\/administrative-services\/?page_id=290"},"modified":"2024-02-22T15:20:14","modified_gmt":"2024-02-22T20:20:14","slug":"drivers-education","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.hendersoncountypublicschoolsnc.org\/administrative-services\/drivers-education\/","title":{"rendered":"Online Driver&#8217;s Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The online driver&#8217;s education course\u00a0is open to students in the WRESA service area, including the following counties:\u00a0Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, and Yancey.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Students must be in grades 9-12 and 14.5 years of age before enrolling in this course.<\/strong> Once a student has registered for a class, they will receive an email within 2-5 business days containing instructions on how to enroll in the classroom portion. An\u00a0instructor will monitor progress and be available to assist with questions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Cost: $65<\/strong>\u00a0(payments made through PayPal\/credit card at time of registration).<br \/>\n<em>Note: the registration\u00a0fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, so please be sure the\u00a0student\u00a0can complete the requirements during the times for each session<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The course will cover the state and national standards required for drivers\u2019 education and will be self-paced, but must be completed within the 4-week window. Successful completion of the course requirements will result in the student receiving the paperwork necessary for the driving portion of drivers\u2019 education. This paperwork can be presented to the local school contact or appropriate private contact.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Classroom Portion\u00a0Requirements:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>Students\u00a0will receive an\u00a0email\u00a0with the information to enroll in the classroom portion. Orientation should take about 20 minutes to complete, and must be done during the 2-day window<\/li>\n<li>All sections and quizzes must be completed for Units during the designated time<\/li>\n<li>Road Signs\u00a0Test\u00a0and\u00a0Final Exam\u00a0must be completed on one of the designated dates during the designated time<\/li>\n<li>Students\u00a0must make an overall grade of &#8220;60&#8221; to receive credit for the\u00a0course<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wresa.org\/drivers-education-registration\/\">Register for Online Driver&#8217;s Education Course<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The online driver&#8217;s education course\u00a0is open to students in the WRESA service area, including the following counties:\u00a0Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, and Yancey.
