2017 Teacher of the Year

Congratulations, Jason Livingston, for being chosen by your colleagues as West Henderson’s Teacher of the Year!

Jason is a 2005 graduate of West Henderson High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary English Education from North Carolina State University in 2009. Jason completed his student teaching at Cary High School in Wake County. This is his 8th year as an employee with Henderson County Public Schools. He currently teaches English I, English 2, English 3, and English 4 at West High. This year he embraced the unique challenge of teaching our first group of AP “Freshmore” English students. He said these students have “pushed him to step up his game on a daily basis because they have such a drive to learn”. (In case you’re wondering… his favorite novel is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald!)

Mr. Livingston is the defensive line coach for our Falcon Football Team and enjoys attending extracurricular activities on campus to support our West High Students. He works as a volunteer part-time at our local Mills River Fire Department. Mr. Livingston is an outdoorsman and enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter.

We are so proud to call you OURS Mr. Livingston! Thanks for all you do!
