Marlow Monday Message, November 9th, 2020

Henderson County Public Schools News

Good Monday evening Glenn Marlow families! I hope everyone had a great weekend and a great week ahead as we honor our Veterans on Wednesday with the Veterans Day holiday. There is no school for students or staff on Wednesday. From all of us at Glenn Marlow Elementary School, we say “thank you” to all of our Veterans for your service, commitment, and sacrifice for our country. We truly appreciate and honor you for all that you have done and continue to do. Without you, we would not be the “home of the free,” and the “land of the brave.” Thank you, again.

Here is this week’s Marlow Monday Message:

  • Our amazing PTO is at it again! Over the last several years, we have held the Poppy Gourmet Popcorn fundraiser, but this year, they are going a different direction. Beginning Friday, November 6th, the Marlow PTO will be selling DiY AR Ornament Kits! All orders will be taken online through the AR website. You can visit their website to purchase. These kits make great family projects for the holidays and will be delivered to school on Nov. 20th for pick-up before the Thanksgiving holiday. Buy yours today!
  • Once again, the Marlow BackPack Bunch provides food on a weekly basis for Marlow children in need. To help stock our pantry and provide Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, Marlow is once again hosting a Thanksgiving Turkey Trot Food Drive! Please consider donating specific grade level items:
    • Kindergarten: Stuffing or Instant Mash Potatoes;
    • 1st Grade: Cornbread or Muffin Mix;
    • 2nd Grade: Corned Veggies;
    • 3rd Grade and Ms. King’s Class: Macaroni and Cheese;
    • 4th Grade and Ms. Burnette’s Class: Gravy Mix and Canned Cranberry;
    • 5th Grade: Brownie or Cookie Mix.
    • We invite your child to drop the items off in the “BIG Turkey” box in the middle of each grade level hallway during this drive from November 10th until November 20th. If you have other ideas for outreach at our school, or you would like to continue helping BackPack Bunch, please contact school counselor, Rachel Malmgren at 654-3225. Thank you so much!
  • The Marlow Fall Scholastic Book Fair has moved online! That’s right, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Fall Scholastic will be all virtual this year. Beginning today, Monday, November 2nd, Marlow families can visit the Book Fair website and shop for their favorite books! The Marlow Virtual Scholastic Book Fair goes through Sunday, November 15th.

From previous weeks….

  • 2020 – 2021 Marlow Yearbook order forms are being sent home this week. All yearbook orders are online this year. Order your Marlow Yearbook today!

Thank you for all you do to make Marlow a great place to learn and grow!

Have a great night!
