Good evening Glenn Marlow families, this is John Hart, principal of Glenn Marlow Elementary School with your Marlow Monday Message on this Monday, August 3rd. I hope all of you are having a safe and restful summer so far. We want you to know that we miss you and, and even from a distance, Buckaroos, you are close in our hearts this summer.
Although I am sad that that we will not be able to have our students in the building to begin the school year, I am confident in our teachers and support staff and the work they will do with their students during this remote learning period. I know all of our students, staff, and families will work hard for a smooth start to this unique school year, and together, we believe in our school vision that all students will achieve success. In advance, thank you for your hard work, patience, and flexibility. We are MarlowStrong!
This message is to update you on a few school-related items, specifically as it relates to Glenn Marlow Elementary School:
- Class lists: This year, class lists will be sent to Marlow students and families via email. Parents, please be sure that you have a correct email address on file with the school to ensure that you will get your child’s teacher assignment email. Teachers will begin making contact with their students beginning Monday, August 10.
- Supply lists: Marlow grade level supply lists are posted on the school’s website, under the Parent Information tab on the left hand side. As stated in the HCPS Return to Learn update, families do not need to plan on buying the standard amount of school supplies as during a traditional school year, since students will begin this year learning remotely, and the sharing of classroom supplies and resources will be eliminated once in-person learning resumes. In summary, please make sure that your child has what they need to be successful in both the remote and in-person learning environment.
- Student Orientation / Meet the Teacher: There have been many questions coming our way as it relates to Student Orientation / Meet the Teacher. Right now, we are finalizing the details of Student Orientation and will send that information out as soon as possible. Please hold tight. We thank you for your patience and know there is more to come.
- Student Chromebooks: As you heard in the HCPS “R2L Weekly Update,” students who already have a Chromebook checked out from last spring will continue to use it for the 2020-2021 school year. If your child needs a device, please call the school to set up a time to come and check out a device. For our Kindergarten students, Chromebooks will be distributed during student orientation.
Again, thank you for all of your support, love, and patience through all of this. We miss you all, love you all, and will get through this together. Stay #MarlowStrong, and have a great night!
