Marlow Monday Message, March 23rd, 2020

Henderson County Public Schools News

Good evening Glenn Marlow parents and students, this is John Hart with your Marlow Monday Message on this Monday, March 23rd. I hope everyone had a great weekend and are ready to face another week like no other. With Governor Cooper’s new executive order to close all K-12 schools until May 15th, we again find ourselves in a challenging time. We miss our students. We miss seeing their smiling faces. We miss the day-to-day interactions with them and each other. We know parents are working hard with their children, while also juggling their own schedule during all of this, and I again want to thank you in advance for your patience, understanding, and flexibility. It takes a village, and we want you to know that no one is in this alone. We will persevere!

Here is information that you need to know for this week:

  • Grab-and-go pickup meals are still available at no cost to children ages 2-18 at 12 school sites, including Marlow Elementary. On weekdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., students can pick up lunch and breakfast for the next morning at Marlow Elementary in the vestibule at the bus entrance.
  • Report cards for the third quarter are still on schedule to be made available to parents this Friday, March 27th.Now more than ever, please be sure that you have access to Parent Portal in PowerSchool so that you can view your child’s report card. If you have any questions about your Parent Portal account, please email Karen Galloway, our data manager, at, or you can call the school.
  • With the extended school closure, guidance on the next phase of K-2 ‘take-home’ bags will be coming to you later this week, so please stay tuned.

Again, if you have any questions, or if you need anything else during this time, please do not hesitate to email me directly at Thank you for all that you do. Stay healthy everyone.
