Marlow Monday Message, March 16th, 2020

Henderson County Public Schools News

Good evening Glenn Marlow parents and students, this is John Hart with your Marlow Monday Message on this Monday, March 16th.

With Governor Cooper’s executive order to close all K-12 schools for two weeks, we find ourselves in an unsettling and uncertain time. I want you to know that our teachers and support staff are working diligently this week to be sure your child is ready for the Learn from Home module that will begin on Friday. I am so proud of the work that everyone is putting in. We all understand that with each new day, we may be faced with new guidance and/or directives from the state and local level, and we stand together to face this head on. Thank you in advance for your patience, understanding, and flexibility during this time. We will persevere!!

Here is information that you need to know for this week:

Beginning Tuesday, grab-and-go pickup meals will be available at no cost to children ages 2-18 at 12 school sites, including Glenn Marlow Elementary. On weekdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., students can pick up in the vestibule of each school’s main entrance.

Parents of 3-5 students only: if you have not already done so, please complete the “Learn from Home” Technology Survey, so that we can provide you the technology support you need.

Access to pick up K-2 take-home bags, student personal items (i.e…medicines, etc..) and G3-5 devices (if needed) at school can occur on Wednesday and Thursday, from 8am to 8pm from the front office. Please note that we will limit the number of people in the front office during these times as we stay mindful to our surroundings.
To alleviate unnecessary crowds, the only people who need to come to school on Wednesday and Thursday are K-2 parents who need to pick up bags, and 3-5 parents who have completed the technology survey, indicating that you need to check out a device.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Again, thank you for all that you do. If you need ANYTHING else during this time, please do not hesitate to email me directly at

Stay healthy everyone. We miss our Buckaroos already.
