Here is this week’s news and upcoming events:
Calling all test proctors! Calling all test proctors! End-of-Grade assessments for Grades 3-5 are scheduled for June 4th – 6th, and June 10th, and we need you! All testing will take place in the morning, and last through lunch. If you are able to help out any of those days, please contact Brandi Delancey, our PTO Volunteer Coordinator, or Jo Pittman, our Testing Coordinator, for more information. Please use our sign-up link for test proctors to volunteer. Thank you for your help!
This week, May 21st and 22nd are Field Days at Glenn Marlow. Grades 3-5 and Ms. Taddei’s class will be at Field Day on Tuesday, and grades K-2 and Ms. Alexander’s class will be on Wednesday. Parents, if you volunteering for Field Day, please report to the main office at 8:15am to sign in get a visitors pass, and then proceed to the gym for instructions. If you are volunteering later on in the day, you will report to the PTO Concession stand located outside the gym entrance, after you pick up your visitors pass in the main office. Considering the weather and temperature, please remember to apply sunscreen before your child gets to school on their designated Field Day. Dress attire goes as follows: boys will need to wear a t-shirt and swim trunks, girls will need to wear a bathing suit beneath a t-shirt and shorts. We look forward to a wonderful and exciting day full of smiles and memories.
Ms. Stephanie Patton, our STEM Coordinator, and our Marlow STEM Club has partnered up with Two Men and a Truck in Fletcher to hold a ‘Movers for Moms’ campaign right here at GMES. ‘Movers for Moms’ is a campaign where we (GMES students and staff) collect much needed supplies for Safelight, a local shelter, and then Two Men and a Truck will come and pack everything up and ‘move’ it over to them. All items are welcome, however, much needed items include: Laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, hair products, nail care products, snacks, twin bedding, standard pillows, Q-tips, Ziploc bags, non-perishable items, cups, plates, pans, shower curtains, personal care items, women’s and children’s underwear, socks, crafts for kids, notebooks, towels and washcloths, shampoo and/or conditioner, garbage bags, and books. Donations brought to GMES can be dropped off in Ms. Patton’s room on the 400 hallway. Thank you for supporting a great cause! The last day to donate is Tuesday, May 21st.
Parents, if you have any student cafeteria charges that are unpaid, please try and have them paid as soon as possible. The last day for students to charge a lunch is Tuesday, May 21st. Thank you!
