Our Mission

Historic Johnson Farm is a heritage education center owned by Henderson County Public Schools and managed by the Henderson County Education Foundation, Inc.

Johnson Farm in the SnowThe goals of the Historic Johnson Farm and the Farm Advisory Committee are as follows:

– To serve as a community museum and heritage center

– To provide the school children and youth in our region with a hands-on learning site for North Carolina history and culture

– To encourage opportunities for the property to be used as a teaching tool for enrichment in the arts, literature, math, science, historic preservation and other areas

– To support environmental and agricultural studies and preservation of endangered plant life on the Farm

– To provide a site for teacher renewal and curriculum development

– To aid in the understanding, enjoyment and preservation of cultural resources of our area
