The “Cafeteria Benefits” plan organized under Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Service offers group rates for dental, vision, cancer, disability and life insurance to all full-time permanent employees. Also available are flexible spending accounts for out-of-pocket medical expenses, as well as dependent care costs. With most of these options, the premiums are pre-taxed.
The open enrollment period for Cafeteria Benefits is scheduled twice a year (once for new employees at the beginning of the school year, and then in the Spring for current employees.)
