Hendersonville Inclusive Playground Project

What is the HIPP Project?

HIPP Stands for Hendersonville Inclusive Playground Project. For the most current info on this exciting addition to Henderson County, check out our HIPP Website!

We are in the process of organizing a community effort to enhance the lower HES playground. This is an exciting project for our school and community!  Our goal is to develop an inclusive playground that will safely serve children and youth of all abilities.  The current lower playground at HES has been an area needing improvement.  This is an opportunity for us as parents to impact the environment for the socialization and development of our children.

 Why is This Important?

The current playground is physically limiting, lacking creativity for the development of all children and in need of repair.

Inclusive playgrounds provide an environment for children of all abilities that fosters independence and cultural acceptance while enhancing social interaction through play.

This playground will promote safe and healthy physical activity for all children.

What is an Inclusive Playground?

Inclusive playgrounds provide space and structures that allow inclusion physically, mentally, and developmentally.  Diversity is respected and valued.  Features include safe, smooth surfacing, stimulating, accessible structures, and opportunity for ground-level play.
