Welcome Class of 2029!

The first week of school is always an exciting time but it is especially exciting for our new kindergarten students!  They began the week by reading The Gingerbread Man and making their own gingerbread girls and boys, who ran off through the school.  Teachers lead their new students on a tour of the school as they looked for those sneaky gingerbread girls and boys only to find they all arrived back safely in their classrooms just in time for snack!

Our students also had another wonderful surprise as our friends from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department came by to deliver new t-shirts for our kindergartners.  Each shirt says Class of 2029 because that is when these amazing students will graduate from high school!  Our students were so excited over their new shirts and many wore them all day long.  We had a great time as we handed out shirts and students told us what they wanted to be when they grow up.  They want to be everything from a police officer to a soldier to an artist to a fairy and even a dinosaur!

We would like to thank the following community sponsors for providing the financial support for this year’s kindergarten t-shirts:  Henderson County Sheriff’s Department, Hendersonville Community Co-Op, Mast General Store, Champion Comfort Experts, Park Ridge Health, NC Printing, United Federal Credit Union, and Hendersonville Pediatric Dentistry.
