The Henderson County Soil and Water Conservation District hosted the 2017-2018 contest for 5th grade students using the state theme, “Water…The Cycle of Life.”

Students were encouraged to create original works of art using the theme to promote the wise use and management of natural resources after receiving a lesson on the water cycle from the Henderson Soil and Water Conservation District.

Five Henderson County Public Schools and one private school participated in the contest, contributing a total of 302 entries. The posters were judged on the following criteria: conservation message, visual effectiveness, universal appeal, originality, and hand-drawn elements.
