All regular education students are to be dropped off and picked up in the front circle by the gym, located off of Bearcat Blvd. If you choose to walk up to either drop off or pick up your student, you may park in the lower level parking area of St. James Church. The back parking area, above the big playground off Locust St., is for staff and special needs students only. There are also a few spaces near Bearcat Blvd. that are reserved for staff and designated for handicap parking.  Please leave these spaces for staff and volunteers.  Please follow the traffic pattern designated by the Hendersonville Police Department. If you need a map showing the traffic pattern, please call or come by the office.

If school is canceled or a 2-Hour delay is called due to inclement weather, you will be notified through the HCPS Alert Now system. This system will only work if we have a current home or active cell phone number. You may also tune into 1450 AM WHKP, 99.9 KISS Country, Star 104.3, the HCPS website, and local TV stations, such as 13 WLOS for the most current school closings and delays updates.  13 WLOS also offers a text alert for school closings.  Access more information about WLOS text alerts.

If inclement weather begins during the school day and HCPS close, parents will notified by the Alert Now system.  Buses will run; however, PSPM and The Boys & Girls Club will be closed.

School will begin at 10:15 am on a 2-Hour delay. Please do not drop off your child(ren) before 9:45 as adult supervision may not be available. Buses will run 2 hours later than normal time. For example, if the bus normally comes at 7:00 am then the bus will be there at 9:00 am.

There are four (4) early release days each school year, 1 per quarter. School will dismiss at 12:00 pm on these days. All students in the car rider line need to be picked up 12:15 pm. Buses will run regular routes but will run 3 hours earlier than normal. For example, if the bus normally comes at 3:30 pm then the bus will be there at 12:30 pm.

Bus Riders

Bus service is a privilege that Henderson County Public Schools is pleased to offer. Students must be at designated bus stop 5-10 minutes before schedule because times may vary.  Actual pick-up times may vary due to weather, traffic, bus mechanical issues, etc.  All schools try their best to stick to the bus schedule as much as possible.
